We can help with various household pets, including dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, small mammals, pigs, and many more. Below are just a couple of the services we provide at our practice:
Full In-House Laboratory
Carolinas Veterinary Care Clinic has diagnostic testing available for your pets! We can accomplish this using our state-of-the-art in-house full diagnostic lab and our outside reference laboratory. Blood tests are available to assist us in examining endocrine problems, organ functions, cell counts, and much more. Some additional tests we offer here include biopsies, fecal exams, cytology, and urinalysis. While some test results are available in a timely fashion, others may take a few days.
Based on your pet’s age, health status, and other vital factors, we highly recommend that your pet receives routine wellness exams and lab tests!
Digital Radiology
Radiographs are an important tool that can help us make a correct diagnosis for your pet. Our radiology service is staffed by caring, skilled professionals who will provide state-of-the-art care with compassion and expertise. Our X-ray machine generates digital images that are stored permanently in your pet’s computerized medical record. All x-ray packages include a consultation with a board-certified Radiologist as well.
Ultrasound
Although humans and animals are different in many ways, some advances in human medicine are also very useful for veterinary patients. Ultrasonography is a type of diagnostic technique that uses ultrasound waves to produce an imaging study. This means that when we perform ultrasonography, we can see internal images of the patient’s body. Unlike some other imaging studies, like x-rays, ultrasonography does not use radiation. Instead, ultrasonography uses high-frequency sound (ultrasound) waves to create a picture of what is inside your pet’s body. Ultrasonography is a completely non-invasive, painless way to diagnose and evaluate many common diseases. At Carolinas Veterinary Care Clinic, ultrasound services that might otherwise be referred to a specialty facility can be scheduled in advance with one of our board certified veterinary Radiologists. This allows us to get an ultrasound diagnosis quicker than other veterinary practices and without the need for a referral to another hospital.
Therapeutic Companion Laser
Laser therapy provides a non-invasive, pain-free, surgery-free, drug-free treatment that is used to treat a variety of conditions and can be performed in conjunction with existing treatment protocols. Relief and/or improvement is often noticed within hours depending on the condition and your pet’s response. Whether your pet is rehabilitating from trauma or injury, healing from wounds, or simply aging, your companion can benefit from this innovative approach to treating pain.
Our laser is a newer high-powered Class IV companion therapy laser that was cleared by the FDA in 2005. Due to their price and statute in the medicine field, usage has grown dramatically in the past two years! This particular class of laser is not often offered in veterinary practices. The main benefit of higher power is the ability to deliver enough energy to reach deeper tissues. If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to give us a call!
Allergy Testing
Allergy testing requires one simple blood test and is often overlooked by pet parents when it comes to healthcare. Millions of animals suffer from allergies while only a small amount are ever properly diagnosed, tested, and treated. At Carolinas Veterinary Care Clinic, we’re excited to offer our clients and pet’s Heska allergy testing. This test can accurately identify offending allergens and point the way to immunotherapy treatment — a safe, natural, and proven long-term solution for pets with illness related to skin issues.
